JPNAP 10G Offered at New Rates; JPNAP Osaka 10G Service To Start
|
TOKYO -- INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. (MFEED; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koichi Suzuki) is pleased to announce new rates for its JPNAP 10G service, begun in April 2003 and offering internet exchange (IX) services on a 10 Gbps interface. The new rates take effect April 1, 2004.
In addition, JPNAP Osaka 10G service, which has been offering a 10 Gbps interface to users in Kansai region on a trial basis since last November, will start full operation on February 1.

1.JPNAP (Tokyo) 10G Service
|

The JPNAP services are being upgraded, with the addition of new switching and other equipment, in order to meet the explosive traffic growth as more users join the broadband rush. These improvements will enable JPNAP to continue providing high-speed, high-quality and stable IX services. At the same time, the rates will be revised as detailed below in order to make the service available to a broader range of customers.

2.JPNAP Osaka 10G Service
|
|
JPNAP Osaka began providing 10G service on a trial basis last November (JPNAP Osaka 10G Service), in order to handle higher-bandwidth traffic more efficiently. Now that the network quality has been confirmed and the operations techniques for maintaining the service have been firmly established, the full-scale commercial service is due to begin as indicated below, based on a final evaluation of the trial results.

JPNAP 10G Service
JPNAP (Tokyo) and JPNAP Osaka offer IX services over 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBase-LR) ports. Current users include ASAHI Net, BIGLOBE, IIJ, InfoSphere, OCN, and Softbank BB, while @nifty/FENICS and InterVia are among the providers planning to take advantage of the service in the future.
